Registering as a coach

All CKSC coaches, assistants, managers, and volunteers must Register in Affinity for a background check before actively participating in any sanctioned soccer activity, (practices; games; tournaments; etc.).

When applying for your Risk Management Application (RMA or background check) you will be required by Washington Youth Soccer to complete 3 Compliance Certificates, as required by Federal and State laws. There is NO financial cost to you for completing these Compliance Certifications.

The Compliance Certifications are as follows:

  1. Safe Sport (SS): Safe Sport (SS)
  2. NFHS Learn: Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA)
  3. NFHS Learn: Concussion Compliance (CC) 

To complete/update your certifications and background check (RMA) please complete the following: 

 

1) Log in to cksoccer.org and click on "Volunteer." (If you do not already have an account, please create one.) Choose which position you are interested in volunteering for.  

2) Check the box next to Concussion and Sudden Cardiac Arrest and click "Renew and Update"

3) Click on "Begin Training" in the pop up to take you to the USSF Learning Center

4) Login or create an account (Using your LEGAL name and the EXACT same email you used to register with CKSC)

5) Take the Intro to Safety Course

6) Repeat the above steps for the Safesport Course ONLY COMPLETE PHASE 1.  

**PLEASE NOTE** YOU WILL NEVER BE ASKED TO PAY FOR CERTIFICATIONS OR A BACKGROUND CHECK

 

Once you have finished the certification courses, or if your certificates will not expire within 60 days, go back to cksoccer.org to submit the background check. 

 

To submit the background check:

1) Log on to cksoccer.org

2) Click on "Volunteer"

3) Check the box next to "Risk Status"

4) Click on "Renew & Update"

5) Enter your SSN

6) Click "Submit" TWICE

Note: If you took the Safe Sport course last year, there is a refresher course that can be taken, when you log back in.

New Coach

Registration on the CKSC website will be done during your player registration. It is important to use the exact same legal name and email address when registering in all places (CKSC, WYS, & NSYSA). Prior to submitting your background check, you must take the three required Compliance Certificates for upload into your background check.

The initial training will take approximately 2 hours in total and you can log in and out of the system as many times as necessary to complete – your progress will be saved each time.

Individuals will then be asked to create an account.

The participating organization is: US Soccer

Please save this certificate to your computer and upload to your account in affinity or during the background check process.

Sudden Cardiac Arrest

Every three years, each WA Youth Soccer coach/assistant coach/team manager must complete an online Sudden Cardiac Arrest prevention program.  Save the certificate to upload into your background check process.


Concussion

Every year, each WA Youth Soccer coach/assistant coach/team manager must complete an online concussion prevention program.  Save the certificate to upload into your background check process.


Washington Youth Soccer (W.Y.S.)

1. Go to Resources -->Risk Management --> WYS Affinity Background check

2. Enter information and Upload Safe Sports Certificate.

3. Check all the boxes and sign.

4.  Submit, then an email should be sent when the the application is completed.

**Important**  No coach will be allowed to start holding practice until a valid RMA is approved. The RMA must be completed once every soccer season. Please follow the information below and remember to enter your legal name the same way in all web sites. An email will be sent at the time that is good to start this.


Northwest Sound Youth Soccer Association (N.S.Y.S.A.)

This is the website where your schedule will be posted, where you submit your game scores, and current rules of the game for small sided (U10 and below) and full sided games (U11 and above). Please make sure you are able to log in to your account prior to the season starting.

**Important** It is important to use the exact same legal name and email address as previously used for W.Y.S.

1. Click "Logon".

2. Under Logon Click "Register".
